FRONT ROYAL CHRISTIAN: 6
The Pioneers began their season Thursday night with a victory over Front Royal Christian 36-6. Will Lunsford dominated the paint for the entire game, finishing with 25 points and 12 rebounds. The team's performance exceeded Coach Fries' expectations. This roster is a very athletic group, but very new to the game of basketball. Jake Hailey, Jayden Lundy, and Grant Freiling each made their first appearance on a basketball court, and they fit in very well. The team did a great job moving the ball on offense, and crashing the boards on both ends of the court. Dylan Huggins finished with 8 points, followed by Brent Worsham with 2, and Isaac Shollenberger for 1. The Pioneers will have their hands full on Friday as they face defending conference champ, Rappahannock County @ 5:45 pm.
